Extern IP/Host missing?

Hi,

I just received a new RRC radio server with fw2.80 and upgraded to fw2.81

I noticed "Extern IP/Host" is missing in the IP settings, but it is still listed in the status page.

How is fixed IP managed now?
I'm behind a fixed IP.

Hi

It has never been used, you do not need to set it up.  It just shows the public IP as info.

FYI.

I could not reach my new v2.81 RRC over the internet.

Downgraded the RRC firmware back from 2.81 to 2.78.
Entered my fixed IP in "Extern IP/Host" under IP settings, and it was online again.
(did not change anything in router,etc)

I still don't seem to understand how fixed IP is implemented in fw2.81...

I think it's just coincidence. There is no difference in how the IP protocols works depending on if you have fixed IP or dynamic IP after  the initial DHCP negotiation is done by roouter. When having dynamic IP, the trouble is to find out what the IP number is for the moment, and that's what the ddns function handles.

Mm, I think you're right.

Upgraded back from 2.78 to 2.81 and all remains normal.

Murphy crept into the IP numbers and port fowarding again.
