Using remote rig with UHF or VHF
« on: 2015-06-01, 12:18:31 »
I would like to remote-rig my IC 7100 using a radio link instead of the internet or wifi
any ideas on how to proceed, a 2m or 70cms link with just enough bandwidth for full remote and voice.

Regards

Ron

I have never heard of such links for 2m or 70 cm. 5 GHz links is cheap and reliable.

I have done this using WiFi at 5 GHz using Ubiquity Bullets https://www.ubnt.com/airmax/bulletm/
which allow nearly 50 KM using high power Bullets attached to high-gain antennas. If a shorter
distance is required, a solution such as the Nanostation https://www.ubnt.com/airmax/nanostationm/ would be sufficient.
