TS480 CAT PTT digimodes problems
« on: 2015-11-03, 21:32:11 »
Hello,

here Andreas DL5CG. I use for a while the remoterig system.

SSB and CW works fine. Now i will use digimodes for the future.

I have set COM 2 on both side - serial ports - kenwood and 4800 baud 8 N 1.

I have fundamental questions. Is a serial cable from the  "radio side" ts 480 to the

RRC-1258MkIIs required ? On the  "control - home " side is use the usb port.

I canīt find CAT Control an PTT or digimodes. RX Digimode ist okay - works.

Has anybody a exempel for HRD, Logger32, MixMW, e.t.c.

Many thanks for your help!

Hi Andreas,

You must have a standard serial cable between of the radio RRC and the TS -480 CAT to  make it work. All RRC versions work just fine. All digital mode applications require CAT control.

You can use either the built-in USB to serial converter in the RRC with the Windows virtual serial ports, or the COM2 port on the control RRC with a serial cable or USB converter.

Hi Mitch,

thanks for your fast support. Tomorrow I will set on the "antennaside" a serial  cabel between the 480 radio and the remoterig unit.

I was a little bit confused in the last time about different "solutions". Now I think, it is it...

Thanks for your HAM SPIRIT! I informing your here, when it works :)

No problem, Andreas. I have a checklist also available for TS-480 CAT, but I already explained the most
important things. If you need more help (auf Deutsch), just drop me a mail to dj0qn (at) darc.de.
