Using HRD (and 1258) with Yaesu 857D Help!
« on: 2016-07-11, 23:48:35 »
Hi,
I love my 1258s! The remote panel works great.  Now I want to use HRD as well, only for the graphic editing, control, etc. Not for audio.
I see no plain and simple instructions anywhere.  I have purchased a Cat-62 to com port cable.  I have tried every setting, etc.  I am using Windows 10.  I have even adjusted the local USB to 4800 baud.  Seems you could just connect via IP.  Don't know.  Please help step by step.  BTW, HRD would like to know as well.
Thanks,
Kevin

You should setup com 2 in both RRC to the same baudrate as the 857 is set to normally 4800 or 9600 baud, 8 bit 2 stopbit no parity. HRD is set to same baudrate and to connect to COM4 (RRC com2).

IMPORTANT is that you have a original Yaesu CT-62 which is powered from the radio. There are many pirates available on ebay which is stealing power from the PC, they are not working.
