Feature request for webswitch
« on: 2011-02-25, 21:25:20 »
Hi Jan

Any chance to build the possibility to use the relays of the webswitch as time-relays or pulse switches (e.g. relay open or closed) for a definable time range? Would be a great feature to reset external devices and to substitute push buttoms on some devices.

Hi Mark

Maybe a Dovado router with Home Automation together with a Gembird Silver shield will do the job for you.

Then you have 4 scheduled events that also can be manually controlled

Have a look:

Thanks Peder for the info, but no new boxes needed, just a little software modification for the existing webswitch. Implementing of a settable timer to generate switching pulses of selectable duration, that's what I'm asking for. Pulses should be negative (switch connected device off for a few seconds and go back to "on" status - eg for reset of a router) or positive switching (switch on for a few seconds, then switch off again - remote control of pulse switches).

The extended firmware version of the Webswitch already has something similar, called "Auto Control Programs". It allows time based control of the relays, though the resolution is minutes, not seconds. Maybe it would be enough for your needs being able to turn on/off a relay for one minute? Have a look at http://www.webswitch.se/ for details.
Always include type of hard/software and version when asking for support.

unfortunately this does not help, most of pulse switches are time critical, so the pulse range should be variable between 1-20 seconds.
