Radio/Remote RRC randomly restarts

I am seeing the Radio/Remote RRC randomly restart. No errors. No one connected.
I was first told it was the power. I have tried a couple of sources. Nothing has changed!
Could it be the USB cable that is plugged into a weak USB bus?

I was told/tested that the web interface should have a password. That didn't fix the issue. So I am back to square one. 

Other suggestions or ideas?

Hello Will,

I am a happy remoterig user. I have been using it for years without problems.

But recently radio RRC started to restart randomly just like you told. I have now examined the case and I believe that the RRC web page is hacked by some robot. When I disabled the web page port forwarding there are no restarts. (I am not using DMZ)

Because I want to access radio RRC with a browser I enabled the web page port forwarding and I changed the IP port number (was 81) to higher than 1000. So far I have not seen any restarts.

Can you do the same test by disabling the web page port forwarding or change the web page port number.

One should ALWAYS change both the web port number AND set a user name and password
to prevent that type of problem.

Note that it is highly recommended to forward the radio RRC web port to be able to make
adjustments, updates, etc. remotely as needed.

I had the username/password set on the RRC, but still had the issue. My WEB port was not standard, but not high either. I have just made a major change in the port (better add a label to the RRC).  Hopefully things will be better..

I just got home and made the port changes to the RRC and router. If this all works,  I will be really happy!!

Good news.

After changing the web page port to a high number I have now got 15 hours of the RRC uptime. Before the change the uptime was only abt 40 minutes. So far, looking very good.
