TS-480 Keying
« on: 2011-05-04, 03:20:28 »
I have the system working great on SSB but am having a problem with using the CONTROL unit internal keyer.

I get side tone and the keyer seems to work properly, but it does not key the radio.

If I turn the CONTROL keyer off,  I can key the radio with one side of the paddle at the CONTROL.

The radio is connected from the PAD output on the RADIO unit to the KEY input of the TS-480

Any suggestions??

tnx

Hi

You have probably not select the output under the IO menu in the Radio-RRC

I  tried to set OUT1 to keyer. and on/off to on.  the button turns green

I hit Apply Changes

the RADIO RRC reboots

But when I check the IO settings  it still shows OUT1 as OFF

It won't accept the change

???

On/off is not used when it set to keyer. You can try set both out1 and 2 to keyer to be sure

I set both OUT1 and OUT2 to Keyer.

Still will not key the transmitter.

Do I have to set any of the OUT parameters on the CONTROL??

I have everything set according to Page 63 of the manual except both OUT1 and OUT2 are set to Keyer on the RADIO RRC
