SIP Contact Host Problems
« on: 2011-05-09, 00:45:16 »
Hi all:

Well up and running again, everything seems to be running fine except I have a SIP contact host issue.
When I put in my DynDns assigned host, I don't get any audio and the remote isn't functioning.
However, when I replace the DynDns host with my ISP assigned IP, it establishes a connection and everything's fine.
Any fix for this? The only thing I know to do now is watch for the IP change to update the SIP contact host field.

Have you checked the "DNS status" on the Status Page?
Always include type of hard/software and version when asking for support.

Hi Jan:

On the Control RRC, the DynDns Status shows:
OK, remoterig.com = 193.202.110.185.
On the radio RRC, the DynDns status is unknown.

Thanks:

Michael

Note that I didn't ask about the DynDNS status, but about the DNS status, which you indeed did answer about though you call it "DynDNS" instead of just "DNS" ;)

If you enter your DynDNS hostname as SIP contact, which DNS status do you get then? (Should not be "OK, remoterig.com = 193.202.110.185" then, but something like "OK, yourdynsdomain=X.X.X.X"

Always include type of hard/software and version when asking for support.

Hi Jan:

Here's the info from the status page from my control RRC.
As you can see, the DNS status is unknown.
This is the same as the radio RRC.  Perhaps you can check the rest of the info to see if everything is correct.

I think you checked the "DNS Status" too soon after Applying settings(=restarting the RRC). It will take awhile before DNS Status becomes something else than "Unknown".
Always include type of hard/software and version when asking for support.
