The Expert Linear Amplifiers1K-FA, 1.3K-FA, 1.5K-FA and 2K-FA is a very popular PA to use for remote control. There are several ways to do it, Remoterig supports two different solutions. One best way is to use the RC-1216H which gives you a web based control which is very handy as you can use any device which has a web browser to control it like smart phones, pads etc. The second way is to use COM1 in the RRC:s to transfer the serial port for the Expert control program. When using the RC-1216H for the control you get both the web based control and the possibility to use the Expert control software simultaneously, as the webinterface do not support all functions like setup etc. This can be done as the RC-1216H has a virtual serial port which can be used over internet.
The picture above shows the RC-1216 with the web page fro Expert 1K-FA

If you have com1 free in your RRC you can use the Remoterig system to transfer the serial port from the PC to the PA.
Below you can find drawing for the cables, make notice they are not the same for 1K-FA and 1.3K_FA/1.5K-FA/2K-FA.
For detailed information look at the manual for your PA.
Expert 1.3K-FA, 1.5K-FA and 2K-FA
Note! that you must have the version of the Expert PC-program which supports manual settings of the baudrate (Term_2k_RS232 etc ), The standard version only support 115200 baud which the RRC:s do not support.
Also remember that the USB cable cannot be connected to the PA at the same time as the RS-232 port is used. Connecting USB cable will automatically disable the RS-232 port.
Cables RRC-1258MkII to Expert 1.3FA, 1.5K-FA and 2K-FA.
Note that the cables are no on the shelf cables, you need to make them by yourself.
You must also have a way to power on/oft the PA, this can be done by a remote controlled switch like the Webswitch-1216H or if you always want it on when using the radio, there is often a 12V output on the radio which can be used.
The settings needed for the serial communication is done under Serial settings. Mode should be 3, baud rate = 9600-57600, data bits=8, stop bits=1 and parity=0, Rts/cts = No. The settings should be the same in both Control-RRC and Radio-RRC:s.
